LOHO Bride // Real Bride: Jennifer + Logan

We're drooling big time over the pictures of Jenn and Logan's wedding day. The forest! Her hair! And of course, her two-piece Daughters of Simone "Gwen" dress. Jenn is an absolute knock-out. We're so happy for the couple and proud to call Jenn a LOHO Bride.

Can you tell us a little about yourself? It can literally be anything! We just want to know what gets you excited, even if it’s that you’re passionate about puppies.

Art. Sounds cliché but it’s so true. My husband is a musician (drummer), I’m obsessed with Stanley Kubrick and Charles Bukowski but at the same time adore Anna Bonds’ illustrations and love to take care of my succulent garden and glorious fiddle-leaf fig ficus. Femininity with an edge. I work in Advertising, so I’m always near something being created, which is inspiring and exciting. Since you mentioned it, I’m also passionate about puppies!! I have one myself, Ozzy. He’s a 1 ½ year old French Bulldog. He’s the cutest. He really is. He brings so much joy to our little family, I don’t remember how I lived without him!! I’m also a twin! My sister and I are super close and we moved up here together about 7 years ago from Southern California. I love her to death.

How did you and your partner meet?

We met through my sister. She was dating his friend. Logan found out that my sister was a twin and immediately demanded a double date. We hit it off and my sister and her guy fizzled out. BUT my sister has been dating an old high school friend of Logan’s for years now so it all comes full circle.

Were you channeling any style icons while dress shopping?

I was open minded, wasn’t sure what I would like. I know I wanted lace, but that was it. Style Icon? Debbie Harry.

What was the best part of your LOHO Bride experience?

Christy and Amanda. They were/ are great. I felt that their INCREDIBLE inventory down to every detail in their showroom spoke to me! I loved it all. I felt like they got it and understood me and my aesthetic/ vision. I didn’t want anything traditional. I wanted this experience to be modern and unique and glamorous and fun; and it was because of them! I don’t think you can find anything else like it.

How did you choose your dress and what was the most magical part about it?

My dress happened to me in a roundabout way. Which is perfect. I tried on several dresses, honestly, not really liking any on me. I’m pretty insecure with my body so it was hard to have all eyes on me, etc… But I tried on this two piece that in hindsight was perfect. Long sleeve, showed off my stomach, long skirt – played up all my best parts.  I left wanting another dress that I had tried on but knew in my gut that it wasn’t the right one from the fit to the price. A few days later I was in the shower and that two-piece popped right back in my mind and I couldn’t get it out. I NEEDED THAT DRESS NOW. So I booked another appointment and bought it right then and quickly purchased my head piece in 5 minutes and I was done.  Your best ideas come in the shower. It’s a fact!

Describe your wedding. Where did it take place? What inspiration or themes were you drawn to when planning?

It was an incredible day! I didn’t know I could be so happy and relaxed. We had it at Nestldown in Los Gatos, CA. It’s an incredible venue in the redwoods. We love the outdoors, especially the redwood forest so it was the perfect setting. My theme I would say was somewhere in the middle of vintage, elegance and modern – neutral/ soft colors. I hate to say boho, but I was drawn towards those stylings, but I was sure not to take it too far but put my own spin on it.

What made your wedding personal to you and your partner?

The setting, being out in nature. But also our ceremony was nontraditional and simply filled with lots of love and laughter. We are a group of musicians so there was lots of music and dancing!

Did you have a special moment or one thing that truly made it in a league of its own?

Kick ass, gorgeous friends and family on the dance floor. It’s amazing to see everyone you hold so dear in one place letting loose and celebrating LOVE.

Any parting wisdom for yet-to-wed LOHO Brides?
DO NOT STRESS. It’ll all work out. Take in this moment in your life and enjoy it. Let all the love shower you.
