LOHO Bride // Real Bride: Jennika + Jesse

No one has rocked Bo & Luca's "Isra" dress quite like our girl Jennika. She stuns in this two-piece gown on her big day and we're amazed with all the photos. Jennika, her now husband, Jesse and their adorable baby make the most beautiful family and we're thrilled to share their story on our blog.

Name: Jennika Flinck

Wedding Date & Venue: Rancho Wickiup, Santa Rosa, CA May 30th 2015

How did you and your partner meet?

My now husband and I first met in the health food store I owned in the small town of Hayfork. I had no idea then that this man would end up being the love of my life and father of my children but he says he felt the spark from that first moment. We developed a strong friendship over the next year and fell in love on a trip to thailand in 2011. Jesse never thought he was the marrying type but shortly after the birth of our son in 2014. He proposed on a family trip to the coast with a toast of champagne in front of some of my closest family. Of course I said yes.

What about your gown spoke to you?

This led to the search for the dress. I felt so unsure of what kind of dress I would like and didn’t know where to begin. I put off dress shopping until my birthday trip we had planned to san francisco in February. With amazing luck I was able to have a friend join me and got an apt day of my birthday at LOHO bride. With a semi awful first experience trying on dress the day before at another boutique I was nervous but excited. I had fallen in love with a certain dress online and had to come in to try it. I honestly thought that was the dress… Until I came in. I was incredibly comfortable from first step in the door. I so appreciated the calm laid back atmosphere and all the beautiful dresses immediately filed me with hope I would find my dress finally!

We tried on a handful of beautiful gowns but instantly when I slid into the beaded top and silky skirt I knew I had found my fit. It was the perfect bohemian with a modern twist wedding dress. It was such an amazing way to spend my birthday and felt so incredibly lucky the designer expedited the dress and I was able to have it well before my wedding day. The beads in the top and the lux cool soft touch it left against my skin made me feel like and indian princess. The soft flowing skirt offered the perfect flattering coverage for my lower half. It was the perfect combination of pure luxury and comfort. I also just instantly felt like a million dollars. I knew it was the one.

Favorite epic wedding moment?

My wedding is full of favorite moments but one that really shines bright for me was getting to do a first look before our ceremony.  That quick and beautiful coming together before making a life long commitment of marriage in front of our friends and family. My heart raced then like the first time we kissed and the first time he said I love you all in one.

Any parting wisdom for future LOHO Brides?

Well my photographer Kristen ended up feeling like a member of the family by the end of the weekend. She truly helped me take care of my dress the day after. She shared her secrets with me and I will share with you : safety pins, sewing kit, shout wipes, and sparkling water. So truly best helpful hint I can share is don’t skimp on hiring an amazing photographer.
